NYC’S 5th Annual AAPI Heritage Parade
Vehicle Showcase — May 17, 2026
Daikoku NYC is returning to the streets for the 5th Annual AAPI Heritage Parade — one of New York City's largest and most significant celebrations of Asian American and Pacific Islander culture.
This year, we're opening a limited number of spots for community members to join us in the official parade procession as part of a curated vehicle showcase. If you've ever wanted to represent your culture, your story, and your build in one of NYC's most visible public spaces, this is that moment.
What This Is
This is not a car meet. This is a cultural platform.
The vehicles in our lineup don't just fill a procession, they carry stories. Heritage. Identity. The kind of automotive expression that says something about who we are as a community and how we show up in this city.
Five years in, Daikoku NYC has earned a place in this parade not just as participants, but as organizers, curators, and stewards of what Asian American car culture can look like when it's done right.
Event Details

Time — 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location — Midtown, New York City

How Registration Works
All vehicle applications are reviewed and approved in advance.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot.
We curate the lineup intentionally. We look for:
Build quality and uniqueness: Your car doesn't have to be modified, but it should be clean, presentable, and cared for.
Cultural relevance: We want builds that carry a story. AAPI heritage, immigrant experience, community roots, tell us what your car means to you.
Representation: We actively seek diversity across makes, eras, backgrounds, and boroughs. This lineup should look like New York.
Safety and conduct: Selected participants must be able to follow event rules and city guidelines without exception.
If You're Selected
Approved participants will receive a confirmation email with everything they need: staging instructions, arrival time, event guidelines, and a point of contact for day-of questions.
On the day, you'll be part of:
The official NYC AAPI Heritage Parade procession
Daikoku NYC's curated vehicle group within the parade
Media and photography coverage from the Daikoku NYC team
A public moment of cultural representation in one of the city's most attended annual events
Event Guidelines
This is a city-permitted, NYPD-coordinated, family-friendly cultural event. These rules are non-negotiable.
No revving, burnouts, or aggressive driving — at any point during the event
No illegal parking or blocking of pedestrian pathways
All instructions from Daikoku NYC staff and NYPD must be followed immediately
Respect the community, local businesses, parade attendees, and each other
Non-compliance results in immediate removal from the parade and disqualification from all future Daikoku NYC events. We've built trust with the City of New York and the local community. We protect that.
Why This Matters
Visibility is not a small thing, especially for communities that have historically had to fight for space in public life.
When Daikoku NYC rolls through Midtown on May 17th, we are not just showing cars. We are showing up. For the AAPI community. For the builders and shop owners and first-generation New Yorkers who see themselves in this culture. For everyone who ever felt like automotive spaces weren't made for them.
This is how we do it, responsibly, creatively, and together.
Apply to Join
Spots are limited. All applications are reviewed by the Daikoku NYC team.
We'll be in touch by May 14th.
